Notes
Control Architect (licensed installation)
Asset Backup Scheduler is an add-on to Control Architect. A licensed and fully operational Control Architect installation must be present on the network. Snapshot generation is performed by Control Architect.
Control Architect Backup File Monitor Service
The Windows service component of Control Architect that watches for completed asset collections and triggers automatic snapshot generation. This service is installed separately and must be running on the host system or an accessible network host.
MongoDB
A configured and accessible MongoDB instance is required by Control Architect to store Configuration Collection snapshots. MongoDB must be reachable from the Control Architect host.
Microsoft SQL Server
Required for both CDA configuration export (ps_erdb database) and SCADA configuration export (QBDB database). SQL Server must be network-accessible from the Asset Backup Scheduler host.
Honeywell PKS Engineering Tools
Required for CDA configuration export. The Engineering Tools must be installed in the standard path: Engineering Tools\system\bin within the Automation Software Technology, Inc application folder.
Network Requirements
Requirement
Details
Network Share Access
The Asset Backup Scheduler host must have read/write access to the configured Network Share folder used for asset file collection output. Valid domain credentials (domain, username, password) are required.
PCN Connectivity
For LCN data collection, the host must have network connectivity to the Honeywell PCN environment. Supported connectivity options include:
Direct PCN network connection (no firewall)
Plant LAN connection
PCN-isolated network with TCP file transfer (port 139)
SQL Server Connectivity
TCP/IP access to the SQL Server instances hosting the ps_erdb and QBDB databases is required. Ensure firewalls permit SQL Server traffic (default port 1433).
Control Architect API
The Control Architect host API address must be reachable from the Asset Backup Scheduler host to support automatic snapshot generation notification.
LCN-Specific Requirements
Note: LCN Data Collection is an optional feature that can be enabled or disabled in Settings. The following requirements apply only when LCN collection is enabled.
Honeywell LCN History Module (HM) must be accessible from the host workstation
LCN network drive or TCP file transfer (port 139) access must be available
Valid LCN Site ID, LCN ID, and AM Unit ID values must be configured
The Honeywell TPS File Transfer Service must be installed and operational (for non-PCN-direct network configurations)
EC command file templates must be present in the application resource folder
Important: Asset Backup Scheduler requires local administrator privileges on the host workstation to start, stop, and monitor Windows services such as the Honeywell TPS File Transfer Service and the Control Architect Backup File Monitor Service. Ensure the application is run under an account with appropriate permissions.
