The Asset Backup Scheduler user interface is organized into a main tabbed shell window. Each tab provides access to a specific functional area of the application. This topic describes the layout and purpose of each area.
Main Window Layout
The main window consists of the following primary areas:
Tab Control — The primary navigation element, containing all functional tabs
Step Progress Bar — Displays real-time progress of the currently executing backup job
Start / Cancel Backup Task Button — Launches or cancels an immediate manual backup run
Activity Messages Panel — Scrollable list of timestamped activity and status messages for the current run
Status Indicators — Visual icons indicating the current state of each backup job step
Desktop Alert Notifications — Pop-up notifications signaling key events such as backup completion or failure
Tab Descriptions
Backup Jobs Tab
The main operational tab. Displays the list of enabled backup jobs and their current execution status. Each job is represented as a step in the Step Progress Bar, providing a clear at-a-glance view of which jobs have completed, are running, have failed, or are yet to start.
Status Indicator
Meaning
✔ Check (green)
Job completed successfully
✘ Error (red)
Job failed — review messages for details
⏱ Clock (blue)
Job is currently running
✕ Cancel (gray)
Job was canceled by the user
⚠ Warning (amber)
Job completed with warnings — review messages
••• Pending (grey)
Job has not yet started
The Start Backup Task button initiates an immediate manual backup run outside of the schedule. Once a run is in progress, this button changes to Cancel Backup Task to allow the user to safely stop processing.
Scheduler Tab
Provides a calendar-based schedule view. Users create and manage scheduled backup appointments here, specifying the start time, end time (maximum duration window), and recurrence pattern (days of the week). The application continuously monitors the schedule and automatically initiates backup runs when the scheduled time is reached. See Configuring the Scheduler for full details.
Job History Tab
Displays a historical record of all completed backup runs. Each history entry shows:
Job name and description
Overall run status (Completed, Failed, Canceled, Warning)
Start time, end time, and duration
Snapshot generation timestamp (when Control Architect successfully generated a snapshot)
Detailed activity message log for each run
The Job History is persisted to disk and is retained across application restarts. See Job History and Activity Log for details.
Settings Tab
The configuration hub for the application. All connection strings, network share credentials, job type enablement, Control Architect integration settings, and application options are managed here. See Configuring Settings for a full reference.
LCN Data Collection Tab
Available only when Enable LCN Backup is enabled in Settings. This tab houses the LCN Wizard — a step-by-step configuration interface for setting up Honeywell LCN node data collection. It includes:
LCN node discovery and configuration (AM, APP, CG nodes)
The Activity Messages panel supports a right-click context menu that provides options to copy selected messages to the clipboard for use in support requests or logging.
