Data View Item Custom Action
A Custom Action lets you launch an external program or open a related document (for example a display, drawing, or PDF) directly from an item in the Data View. The action can be added as a context-menu item and can optionally replace the default mouse double-click behavior.

Description
Use Custom Action
Enables the Custom Action for mouse double-click or menu events on Data View list items. All other settings are disabled until this is checked.
Replace mouse double-click Action
When checked, double-clicking a Data View item runs the Custom Action instead of the default action.
Source folder path
The folder where your source files exist. Type the path or click the folder button to browse.
Custom Action
The executable to invoke, including its path (default RUNPIC.EXE). Click the folder button to browse for an .exe. Leave empty to open the file using its registered Open verb.
Invoke File Extension
The file type to open using its registered Open verb: (blank), PDF, PNG, or PCT.
Source Property Name
The Control Module property whose value supplies the lookup or entity name used to locate the file.
Custom Menu item name
The text shown in the Data View context menu for this action. Required when Use Custom Action is checked.
Configuring a Custom Action
1. Check Use Custom Action.
2. Optionally check Replace mouse double-click Action.
3. Enter or browse to the source folder containing your files.
4. Enter or browse to the executable in Custom Action, or clear it and choose an Invoke File Extension.
5. Select the Source Property Name used to build the file name.
6. Enter a Custom Menu item name.
7. Close the window and click Yes to save.
Warning If Use Custom Action is checked but Custom Menu item name is empty, the changes are not saved and an error is shown in the status bar. Enter a menu name and close again.
